Congratulations on the release of the
“Bayonetta 2” merchandise following the first “Bayonetta” batch!
Once again, I had the pleasure of
collaborating with PlatinumGames on creating original artwork and providing
supervision for this project.
These amazing opportunities are only
possible thanks to the support of our fans, as well as the passion of partners
like Iijan, who bring these projects to life with such dedication.

"Bayonetta 2" in particular
hasn’t had many merchandise opportunities, so I think this was a rare chance
for us to do something new.
Just like the Bayonetta 1 plushie, the
Bayonetta 2 version turned out so incredibly cute.
And this time, we even have a Jeanne
plushie from the first game!
(Probably my favorite item in the lineup.)
Regarding these plush dolls, although it’s
quite a subtle detail, I’ve adjusted the makeup lines for the Bayonetta 2
version, and I’ve also added highlights to Jeanne’s makeup to give her a
distinct aura of elegance.
I crafted both of them with great attention
to detail, down to the shape of their foreheads and the angle of their hair.
The embroidery patterns have been
beautifully incorporated, which I think really captures the essence of their
designs. Please take a close look at the fine details when you get your hands
on them!
For the new illustration this time, I was
given the concept of “Bayonetta 2 in Japan” (the previous illustration was
“Bayonetta 1 in Hong Kong”). I designed a hybrid Japanese-Western style
pantsuit to give her a different impression and charm while still retaining a
hint of the silhouette from her official in-game outfit.
The details have been adjusted so that the
illustration lines up neatly with the first one.
The Bayonetta 1 & 2 commemorative scarf features an illustration I
personally drew to celebrate the release of the Nintendo Switch version of the
games. The team at Iijan really wanted to incorporate this artwork, so I helped
create a new border design specifically for this scarf. I hope you all enjoy
it!
For the new folder product featuring Bayonetta and Jeanne in their traditional
Umbran attire, I initially was quite hesitant in using some of my super rough
concept art for the design... but thanks to the passion of Iijan, they were
able to turn my drawings into such a wonderful piece!
In addition to the fashion items, we also
pushed to release a wide range of merchandise, including a few items based on
the “Book of Angels” design, achievement-style pin badges, acrylic stands of
all the in-game weapons, and even a tarot-style playing card deck. The lineup might be a bit niche compared to what you
normally see, but I think that Iijan's crazy passion really shines through each
one of these products. This uniqueness is exactly what makes them satisfying to
true fans of the series. We’ve all done our best to pay meticulous attention to
every detail to ensure these products are practical, and as accurate to the
world of Bayonetta as possible. Get your hands on them, and I'm sure you will
be able to feel this for yourself!
The passion that has been poured into the
design of every single item is easy to see, and I think that's exactly what
makes Iijan's product lineup so great. We will be thrilled if you enjoy these
items as much as we have!
